'Kundalini Arts'  is the shared artistic vision of Brighton artists Philip Shadbolt & MandalaBob, who have been co-creating their inspirational artworks for over 12 years. In this time they've had a dynamic journey of self-discovery, having spent several years researching visual imagery and its uses and traditions in India, Australia, and Sri Lanka.

Their works can be found in collections from around the world, with the use of rich, vibrant colour and nature inspired subject matter providing a welcome escape from everyday life, and their images are now becoming much sought after. Never ones to follow trends, they have remained true to their artistic ideals, and seek only to create images filled with beauty and light, as they believe that art should be something that enriches and transports the viewer to a place of peace. Perhaps by simply allowing ourselves to wander in the world they manage to create on canvas, to delve into the colours and details of these magical places, we allow our minds to absorb the energy of each piece, and help heal ourselves in the process.

More recently, they were commissioned for the Karim Rashid (New York) designed 'Myhotel Brighton' (Uk) which features their images in all 80 of the guest rooms, and they are currently working on several new commissions for private clients, both in the UK and abroad.

Originally from Australia, Philip had a background in Fine art, Graphic Design, & Illustration before returning to his Celtic Welsh roots in 1993. His passion is for painting large scale figurative canvases, drawing his inspiration from his native Australia and time spent studying in India, and paints using hand-crafted skills & techniques that he has mastered over the years. Most of his works have been created using oils and acrylics, gradualy building up the subtle layers of pigment to free his vision onto the canvas before him. Some of the larger works (for example Avatar, and Lila) have taken several months to complete, due to the intricate level of detail involved.

Bob had a background working in western Psychiatry, with an interest in Art Therapy, before moving to India for several years to further his studies. This led to him spending three years living with the Sadhus of northern India, studying meditation and visual symbology. That led to his fascination with the creation and use of Mandalas, as they combine physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects to them, so they can be used both as decorative or functional artworks. Using handpainted elements from Philip's paintings, and photographic collage with a digital twist, each of these mandalas are unique, and will resonate on different levels for different people, to energise and enrich your minds and living spaces.

… “Focus on the center, and allow yourself to be drawn in” …

They now work mainly from their Brighton studio, and can also be found exploring in the Himalayas from time to time, so if you wish to contact them for any information regarding prints, originals, commissions, and press, please feel free to send an email to kundaliniarts@yahoo.co.uk and they'll reply as soon as possible (usually within 2-3 days).
